Lucknow, May 25: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has written a letter to children and their parents. In this letter, he urges parents to take their children to their grandparents’ homes during the summer holidays and to connect them with nature.
In his message to children, the Chief Minister stated, “Summer vacations bring joy, excitement, and opportunities for new discoveries. With a break from the busy school routine, there is a desire to learn something new, explore new places, and spend time with loved ones. This is the time to identify your interests, develop new habits, and gain life experiences that will contribute to your overall personality. Teenagers and youth can learn a new language or skill during these holidays. This is also a great time to bond with good books, photography, painting, cooking, music, and gardening.”
The Chief Minister further shared, “Dear parents, I want to discuss a few things with you. Most of us have heard stories from our grandparents during our childhood. Today, children are drifting away from these experiences. I urge you to take your children to their grandparents’ homes during these holidays. Let them spend time with family so they can learn about their values and traditions up close.”
CM Yogi appealed to parents to also connect their children with nature during the summer break. He suggested planting trees together, assigning them the responsibility of caring for the plants, and instilling habits of cleanliness. When children understand the importance of soil, trees, and water, they develop sensitivity towards the environment. Remember, a tree with strong roots is the most fruitful and long-lasting. Our culture and values are like those roots.
He emphasized the importance of travel, stating, “Traveling is a way to understand life. Take children to places where they can experience nature and biodiversity. Locations like Dudhwa National Park, Chuka Beach, and Katerniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary introduce them to the immense beauty of nature and make the journey unforgettable. If we can connect children with nature, culture, and health during these holidays, it will become invaluable capital in their lives.”
Yogi Adityanath also urged everyone to commit to making these holidays plastic-free. Whether traveling or picnicking, use cloth or jute bags, avoid spreading plastic waste, and teach children to adopt a clean and healthy lifestyle. Small efforts lay the foundation for significant changes in the future.
