Balrampur, June 6: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that development progresses when the public elects capable leaders. He warned that choosing mafia-affiliated candidates would only harm the poor. “We have dismantled the mafia and are building homes for the underprivileged on their lands. Our double-engine government is working at double speed, providing facilities for farmers, traders, and women. Every district is now part of the development mainstream,” he said.
During a recent visit to Balrampur’s Madhyanagar Bilohar, CM Yogi inaugurated and laid the foundation for projects worth over ₹300 crore. He also honored beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and other government schemes. The Chief Minister recognized the outstanding performance of students at the Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls School and engaged directly with the public about Balrampur’s development model.
He recalled that nine years ago, Balrampur experienced communal riots during Durga Puja. “I had to come from Gorakhpur to assist the people. Today, 75 districts, 350 tehsils, and over 57,000 gram panchayats in Uttar Pradesh are riot-free. The state is progressing rapidly with development,” he noted. He emphasized that before 2017, the poor struggled to access rations, which were often misappropriated by Samajwadi Party goons. Now, every poor individual receives free rations, along with income and residence certificates in villages.
The Chief Minister assured that the government would not tolerate any threats to the safety of women or traders. “Investment is flourishing in the state due to a secure environment. Balrampur is fortunate to have a sugar mill producing biodegradable materials,” he added.
Yogi highlighted that Uttar Pradesh is now recognized for the highest investment and employment opportunities, as well as being the youngest state in the country. The state is gaining a new identity with its historical and cultural significance, including Ayodhya and Kashi. This recognition is attributed to the public’s choice of good representatives.
He mentioned his visit to the border of Gasdi and Tulsi Pur, recalling that in 2007, there was a demand for a bridge over the Rapti River at Mathura Ghat. “As soon as you elected Kailash Nath Shukla, approval for the bridge was granted. Development is underway in Tulsi Pur and Balrampur,” he stated.
CM Yogi also discussed environmental protection, stating that World Environment Day inspires us to remember that “water is life.” He warned against polluting water sources and deforestation, emphasizing that humanity must bear the consequences of environmental damage. Balrampur is now receiving over ₹300 crore in projects, transforming from one of the most backward districts to a rapidly developing area under the double-engine government.
He concluded by noting that Balrampur has seen significant improvements in electricity, roads, and healthcare facilities, which were once unimaginable. The establishment of the Tharu Museum and the university named after Maa Pateshwari are testaments to this progress. The Basic Education Department reported the highest enrollment numbers this year, indicating positive growth in the region.
