Patna, April 2: Union Minister Chirag Paswan has responded sharply to RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s recent comments. He accused Yadav of attempting to tarnish Bihar’s reputation in other states, asserting that the people of Bihar will hold him accountable for his statements.
During the Kerala assembly elections, Tejashwi Yadav labeled Bihar as a poor state. This remark has drawn criticism from NDA leaders, who allege that Yadav is damaging Bihar’s image.
In a media interaction in Patna, Chirag Paswan stated that opposition leaders like Tejashwi Yadav are undermining their own state’s image for electoral gains in other regions. He emphasized that if Yadav insists on portraying Bihar as the poorest state, he should also acknowledge who is responsible for this situation. Paswan pointed out that Yadav’s party, his family, and the RJD’s governance in the 1990s are to blame for Bihar’s struggles.
Paswan expressed that Yadav should feel ashamed for holding such views about Bihar in other states. He noted that due to the governance of Yadav’s party, a significant portion of Bihar’s population has had to migrate. Those trying to defame Bihar in other states are, in fact, responsible for its plight.
He further stated that the people of Bihar are listening to Yadav’s comments. In the upcoming 2025 assembly elections, his absurd statements may lead to his rejection by the electorate.
Referring to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Paswan remarked that both the central government and the newly sworn-in government in Bihar will not compromise on Kumar’s dignity, experience, and reputation.
