
Beijing, March 30: In 2025, China’s digital consumption soared to 25.3 trillion yuan, marking an 8.7% increase compared to 2024. Notably, the consumption of digital services rose by 12.5%, serving as a key driver for the growth of digital consumption. E-commerce in China has significantly boosted offline consumption, with offline digital consumption increasing by 13.8%.
In 2025, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, along with seven other ministries, issued guiding opinions aimed at rapidly enhancing digital consumption and fostering a better life in the digital age. Various regions and departments in China have collectively released over 40 supporting documents and standards.
Digital technology is deeply integrated across various sectors in China, including culture, tourism, healthcare, and urban services. New application scenarios, such as in-depth cultural tourism, intelligent diagnosis and treatment, and drone delivery, are being widely implemented. Continuous improvements are being made in related systems concerning digital governance, data security, and intellectual property. Additionally, there is a strong emphasis on creating a safe, standardized, healthy, and inclusive digital consumption ecosystem.
