China Sees Growth in Endangered Species on International Biodiversity Day

Beijing, May 22: Today marks International Biodiversity Day. The Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment hosted an event on Chongming Island in Shanghai to showcase China’s achievements in biodiversity conservation.

This year’s theme is “Local Actions for Global Impact.” The event also unveiled China’s seventh national report on the implementation of the biodiversity treaty. The report indicates significant progress on 21 out of 27 national biodiversity-related goals.

Additionally, China’s contributions to advancing the global targets of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework were highlighted. Various programs, including a donation ceremony for the Kunming Biodiversity Fund, were also conducted.
