Beijing, July 22: The Ministry of Water Resources of China has recently unveiled a comprehensive plan for the development of a “Water Conservation Remote Sensing Satellite Application System” for the years 2026 to 2035.
According to this plan, China aims to effectively expand its satellite resources by coordinating the development of four major systems: water conservation remote sensing satellite resources, data resources, operational applications, and technical parameters.
By 2030, an initial water conservation remote sensing satellite application system covering key commercial sectors will be established.
By 2035, a comprehensive water conservation remote sensing satellite application system is expected to be fully operational. The capacity for sub-meter resolution imaging coverage will significantly increase, along with enhanced capabilities for rapid monitoring of major emergencies related to water conservation.
