
Chennai, June 1: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and leader of the Tamilga Vetrikazhagam (TVK), Vijay, will visit Tiruchirappalli (Trichy) this evening. The visit aims to express gratitude to the voters of the Tiruchirappalli East assembly constituency.
Following a significant victory for TVK in Tamil Nadu, Vijay took the oath of office on May 10. He contested from two seats and won both. After the elections, he retained the Perambur seat and resigned from his position as the MLA for Tiruchirappalli East, which will soon hold a by-election.
Vijay will travel to Tiruchirappalli via a special flight, expected to arrive around 4 PM. This will be his first visit to the area since assuming office, generating considerable excitement among party workers and supporters.
A large turnout is anticipated for the event, prompting extensive security measures. Approximately 2,000 police personnel will be deployed both inside and around the venue, as well as along the Chief Minister’s travel route, to ensure smooth proceedings.
The TVK headquarters has issued detailed guidelines for participants attending the event. According to a statement from Minister Anand, only those with QR codes will be permitted entry.
Additionally, for security reasons, QR code passes will not be issued to pregnant women, children, school students, senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, and those with health issues.
TVK leaders have urged cooperation from security personnel and organizers to ensure the event’s success.
