New Delhi, July 22: In the wake of ongoing protests regarding paper leaks in NEET and other competitive exams, Union Minister JP Nadda addressed a press conference on Wednesday. He emphasized that the political exploitation of student demonstrations is inappropriate. There is a pressing need for in-depth discussions on the issues faced by students.
Speaking at the BJP headquarters, Nadda noted that Rahul Gandhi presented information in Parliament at 4 PM, claiming there were 150 instances of paper leaks. He stated that this is a matter for investigation, and the government is accountable for providing answers. Paper leaks have been reported in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Kerala, and Karnataka, where Congress and opposition-supported governments are in power. These are just a few examples.
Nadda questioned Rahul Gandhi’s selective focus, asking why he did not discuss the governments of the ‘India Alliance.’ He suggested that this omission indicates that Gandhi’s true aim is not the welfare of students or educational reform, but rather to gain political advantage from student issues.
He further asserted that this is not the time for blame games. The matter is serious, and he highlighted specific regions where paper leaks occurred under opposition rule. Nadda called for discussions in Parliament, emphasizing the need for thorough dialogue and accountability for those responsible.
He insisted that discussions should also cover the government’s response to the paper leak incidents and how other administrations should approach the issue. It is crucial to identify solutions to prevent injustice to students. The government is taking this matter seriously.
Nadda invited the opposition to set a time for discussions, stating that the focus should be on solutions rather than accusations. After the discussions, a solid policy should be developed. The future of the country lies with the youth, and it is the responsibility of both the government and the opposition to ensure their welfare. He expressed a desire for a collaborative, lasting solution.
He concluded by affirming that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the government is responsible and always ready for discussions on all issues in Parliament.
