Bhopal, February 10: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav conducted a surprise inspection of the night shelter at Yadgar-e-Shahjahan Park in Talaiya, Bhopal, on Sunday night. He engaged in heartfelt conversations with the homeless, needy, and travelers who sought refuge for the night. During his visit, he served hot tea and distributed warm blankets to help them combat the cold.
Before heading to the night shelter, he first spoke with women and elderly individuals at Gate Number 4, Shaurya Dwar, near the police headquarters, checking on their well-being and distributing blankets. He then visited the Kali Temple, where he provided blankets to a large number of impoverished individuals present. One needy person shared that he had come to Bhopal to sell vegetables but was now forced to spend the night at the temple due to the harsh cold. Others mentioned they were in town for urgent matters and sought shelter for the night.
At the Yadgar-e-Shahjahan Park night shelter, the Chief Minister interacted with the occupants, inquiring if they faced any issues. They reported no problems, stating that food and sleeping arrangements were adequate, and heaters were available to ward off the cold. Many travelers were staying there to rest before continuing their journey.
During the inspection, Dr. Yadav met Subodh Joseph, who was resting at the shelter and mentioned he was suffering from back pain and needed medical attention. The Chief Minister promptly instructed the collector and the Bhopal municipal commissioner to ensure Subodh received proper treatment and assistance. He personally served hot tea to all the travelers and distributed blankets, emphasizing the need for improved facilities at all night shelters and homes in the city.
Dr. Yadav reassured the occupants that the government is committed to the welfare of the poor, needy, and women. He emphasized that no one should be deprived of government schemes. The distribution of blankets during this cold season has provided significant relief to those in need.
He engaged directly with the travelers to understand their problems, stating that the government is eager to provide assistance to marginalized communities. The government aims to ensure that no individual is left destitute. Under the Poor Welfare Mission, efforts are being made to empower vulnerable sections of society. The primary goal is to reach out to every individual in need, especially during the cold season, to prevent any hardships.
Demonstrating sensitivity, he appealed to all needy individuals to accept blankets and warm clothing to shield themselves from the cold. The homeless, needy, and travelers expressed heartfelt gratitude for the Chief Minister’s kindness and sensitivity.
Also present during the visit were Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai, District President Ravindra Yati, Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh, Municipal Commissioner Sanskriti Jain, regional councilors, and other public representatives.
