Chief Minister Dhami Orders Fire Safety Audits for Hospitals and Public Buildings

Dehradun, June 23: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed officials to conduct comprehensive fire safety audits across all hospitals, coaching centers, large malls, hotels, commercial establishments, and other public buildings in the state.

During a high-level meeting held at the Secretariat, he emphasized that public safety is a top priority for the state government. Any negligence in adhering to fire safety standards will not be tolerated.

CM Dhami instructed officials to identify institutions that do not meet fire safety requirements and to ensure immediate corrective actions are taken. He highlighted the need to specifically test the functionality of fire safety equipment, emergency exit routes, electrical safety measures, and preparedness for quick evacuations in case of emergencies.

He also called for coordination among the fire department, district administration, and relevant departments to complete the audit process in a timely manner.

Present at the meeting were Hemant Dwivedi, Chairman of the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, Narinderjeet Bindra, Chairman of the Hemkund Sahib Management Trust, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, Home Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Director General of Police Deepam Seth, Secretary Vinay Shankar Pandey, DG of Intelligence and Security Abhinav Kumar, IG Riddhim Agarwal, Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari, and Additional Secretary Tripti Bhatt.
