
Mumbai, August 9: Chhattisgarh’s Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw laid the foundation for various development projects worth ₹43.61 crore in the Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation. Among these initiatives is a ₹15.91 crore auditorium with a seating capacity of 2,000, which will become the largest auditorium in Chhattisgarh upon completion.
In a conversation with reporters, Deputy CM Arun Saw stated, “We have laid the foundation for several projects in Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation worth ₹43.61 crore. This includes a ₹15.91 crore auditorium that will be the largest in Chhattisgarh and will be constructed in Rajnandgaon.”
He highlighted that since the formation of the Vishnu Dev Sai government, special attention has been given to the development of Rajnandgaon over the past two years. During this period, ₹267 crore has been allocated to the Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation under various schemes.
Arun Saw mentioned, “Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, the Mayor, and other representatives have made several requests for Rajnandgaon. We will gradually fulfill these demands. Rajnandgaon is our cultural hub. The state government will certainly approve the necessary funds to make Rajnandgaon clean, beautiful, and equipped with better facilities.”
On the same day, Deputy CM Arun Saw also participated in the Chhattisgarh State Junior Chess Championship. He shared on the social media platform ‘X’, “Today, I attended the Chhattisgarh State Junior Chess Championship alongside Assembly Speaker Raman Singh. I had the opportunity to engage with young players and discuss chess.”
He praised the enthusiasm of the young players, stating, “Their faces reflected excitement for the game and a spirit of victory. I wished them well in their journey to excel and showcase their talent. Certificates were awarded to the winners in various categories to encourage them. This competition will bring forth many talented chess players from Chhattisgarh.”
Attendees included MP Santosh Pandey, BJP District President Komal Singh Rajput, Olympic Association President Vikram Sisodia, Purnima Sahu, Digvijay Stadium Secretary Ramesh Patel, Assistant Secretary Yogesh Bagdi, along with sports association officials and a large number of players.
The Deputy Chief Minister expressed his hopes for the success of the competition and the bright future of all participants.
