Beijing, August 9: According to China’s National Bureau of Statistics, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in July experienced a 0.1% decline from the previous month, influenced by international factors, while showing a 0.5% increase compared to the same period last year.
Excluding food and energy prices, the core CPI rose by 0.3% from the previous month and 0.9% year-on-year, indicating a slight overall increase in the CPI.
In some sectors, domestic demand has increased. However, due to imported goods and seasonal factors, the Producer Price Index (PPI) fell by 0.7% from the previous month but rose by 3.5% compared to last year, marking a 0.6% decrease in growth rate from the previous month.
Artificial intelligence continues to drive the upgrade of consumer electronic products, boosting demand and prices for related items. Prices for tablets, computers, and mobile phones increased by 11.3%, 5.5%, and 1.0%, respectively, contributing approximately 0.03% to the monthly CPI rise.
