BJP to Protest Outside Homes of 22 AAP Legislators Against Delhi Laxmi Scheme Opposition

New Delhi, August 9: The Delhi BJP has announced a coordinated protest outside the homes of 22 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislators. This demonstration is in response to the AAP’s opposition to the Delhi Laxmi Scheme in the assembly.

A senior BJP leader revealed that General Secretary M.L. Gihara will oversee the protests, which are set to begin at 8 AM at the residences of all 22 AAP legislators.

In the meantime, BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor criticized AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Saurabh Bhardwaj, claiming they are exhibiting signs of political despair and making irresponsible statements to remain in the headlines.

Kapoor stated that the development initiatives and schemes for women and girls implemented by the BJP government, led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, have weakened AAP’s political standing.

He noted that following surveys indicating a potential loss for AAP in the Punjab assembly elections, Kejriwal’s team has resorted to making baseless accusations and then evading responsibility.

The BJP spokesperson accused AAP leaders of losing all decorum in their political discourse. He mentioned that Delhi government minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa posted on social media platform X, alleging that AAP’s Delhi coordinator Saurabh Bhardwaj and legislator Sanjeev Jha attempted to make false and unfounded allegations against the Delhi government during a press conference.

Sirsa emphasized that the public of Delhi no longer trusts AAP leaders. He stated, “There has been no scam in the Delhi government. I strongly warn Saurabh Bhardwaj and Sanjeev Jha to cease their politics of lies and deceit and apologize, or be prepared to face legal action.”

The BJP spokesperson asserted that it would be wise for Kejriwal, Bhardwaj, and all AAP leaders to apologize to the BJP and the Delhi government; otherwise, the people of Delhi, Punjab, and the nation will hold them politically accountable.

It is noteworthy that under the Delhi Laxmi Scheme, eligible women will receive financial assistance of ₹2,500 each month. Women from North East and North West Delhi have shown the most interest in this initiative.
