Ghaziabad, September 3 (Daily Kiran) : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched a training course focused on economic crime investigation for officials from Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) member countries. This initiative took place in Ghaziabad, with 30 participants attending the program.
From August 27 to September 2, the CBI’s academy hosted a week-long training course for officials from 13 ITEC member nations. The program was conducted under the auspices of the Indian government’s Ministry of External Affairs.
Participants received comprehensive training aimed at increasing awareness, knowledge, and practical skills regarding economic crime investigations. The course also provided insights into the challenges, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices essential for investigating and prosecuting economic crime cases.
The training included officials from countries such as Bhutan, Fiji, the Kingdom of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, Maldives, Mauritius, Mexico, Oman, Tanzania, Thailand, and Zambia.
A closing ceremony was held at the CBI headquarters in New Delhi, presided over by Additional Director N. Venu Gopal. During the event, he emphasized the significance of investigations related to economic crimes, their various forms, and their impacts that transcend geographical boundaries, engaging in discussions with the participants.
