Burhanpur Hosts Two-Day Livelihood Holi Fair Promoting Herbal Products

Burhanpur, February 27: The Madhya Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission, under the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, is hosting a two-day ‘Livelihood Holi Fair’ on February 27 and 28, 2026, at the old Sub-Divisional Office (SDM Office).

The fair showcases high-quality herbal colors, natural dyes made from flowers, and various household products crafted by women’s self-help groups associated with the Livelihood Mission. A significant number of local residents are attending the fair to make purchases.

Women entrepreneurs at the fair shared that they are producing natural and chemical-free colors, ensuring no harm to the skin. They expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives, stating that these programs have empowered them to become self-reliant and promote the ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign.

Jainu Tadvi, a vendor associated with the Livelihood Mission, expressed her heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Modi for helping them stand on their own feet. “We are now capable enough that we no longer need support. We have set up our stall at this fair, selling herbal colors and fertilizers, all of which are chemical-free,” she said.

Rajni Verma added, “Earlier, we sat at home with no work, but now we are selling herbal colors. This has provided us with employment and recognition. We have created chemical-free colors from flowers, which are safe for use. I thank Prime Minister Modi and our group.”

Tavati Khalko, the district officer for the Livelihood Mission in Burhanpur, stated that the fair is aligned with the vision of promoting ‘Vocal for Local’ by our Prime Minister and Chief Minister. The event features herbal colors, water guns, and other products made by women from self-help groups. Our goal is to elevate these hardworking women to the status of ‘Lakhpati Didis’ (millionaire sisters).

She emphasized that using chemical-based colors during Holi can harm the skin, but the colors made by our women from Palash, Marigold, and Rose flowers are safe and non-toxic.
