Mumbai, August 29: The Bombay High Court has canceled the online typing test for clerk recruitment that was set for August 16, 2026. The court administration announced this decision to uphold the highest standards of fairness and transparency in the selection process.
Details regarding the new typing test date, examination centers, and other essential information will be released later on the official website of the Bombay High Court.
According to a notice issued by the court, the typing test was scheduled as part of the recruitment advertisement published on December 8, 2025. However, technical issues arose at several centers across the state during the exam, causing significant inconvenience for many candidates.
Reports indicate that candidates faced challenges due to server outages and malfunctioning computers and keyboards, preventing them from completing the test. Numerous complaints were received from candidates at various centers, including Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Kalyan, Washim, and Hingoli. These issues led to confusion and dissatisfaction regarding the examination process.
Frustrated candidates staged protests in various locations, demanding a retake of the exam. In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, candidates organized a sit-in to voice their concerns. The situation garnered widespread attention, with NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) MLA Rohit Pawar also supporting the protesting candidates.
In light of the escalating controversy, the Bombay High Court reviewed the situation and decided to cancel the typing test held on August 16. The court clarified that a revised schedule for the new examination will be published soon on the official website.
Candidates are now awaiting the announcement of the new exam date. The court administration has urged candidates to obtain all official information related to the recruitment process solely from the Bombay High Court’s website.
