Lucknow, August 8: Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak launched a sharp attack on Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav. He stated that Ram Manohar Lohia was one of the strongest opponents of dynastic politics. However, those who now politicize Lohia’s name have abandoned his ideals. Pathak emphasized that while differences in democracy are natural, political discourse should be based on facts and ideas rather than personal attacks and baseless accusations.
On Saturday, Pathak took to the social media platform ‘X’ to express, “Akhilesh Ji, in politics, ideas should be countered with ideas, not personal bitterness and false allegations. Ram Manohar Lohia was a staunch critic of dynastic politics. He clearly stated that those who cling to their families will become detached from society. He believed that when a family becomes the most powerful, society weakens.”
The Deputy Chief Minister asserted that those who currently engage in politics under Lohia’s name have first discarded his principles. He remarked that if Lohia were alive today, he would have posed tough questions to those making dynastic politics the foundation of governance. He would never have accepted politics aimed at empowering a single family.
Pathak accused Yadav of pretending to be a well-wisher of the Brahmin community while his political narrative revolves around one family. He recalled a past incident where Yadav questioned journalists about their caste, stating, “Mishraji, have some shame,” which still stings within society. He argued that societal upliftment cannot be achieved by empowering one family but by providing equal opportunities, justice, and respect to all sections of society.
He emphasized that the public evaluates his public life. He has always prioritized organization, the constitution, and public service. Personal accusations, insults, and propaganda cannot alter the truth or the public’s trust.
Pathak noted that the politics of the Bharatiya Janata Party is based on the principles of ‘Nation First, Organization Supreme, and Antyodaya,’ while dynastic politics aims to confine power to one family. The public understands this distinction well.
He reiterated that while differences are natural in a democracy, responses to ideas should come from ideas, and facts should be countered with facts, not confusion, bitterness, or unfounded allegations.
