
Meerut, August 8: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will welcome devotees participating in the Kanwar Yatra in Meerut with flower showers this Saturday. This visit symbolizes the government’s commitment to the faith of millions of Shiva devotees and their respect for the Kanwar Yatra.
During his visit, the Chief Minister will conduct an aerial survey of the Kanwar Yatra route and inspect security and other arrangements. This event comes at a peak time when thousands of devotees are traveling from Haridwar with sacred Ganga water towards their destinations.
The flower shower by the Chief Minister is viewed as a gesture of respect and sensitivity towards the devotees. According to the scheduled program, he will arrive in Meerut via helicopter from Hindon Airport. He will survey the entire Kanwar route from Hindon to Meerut, checking on safety, traffic, and administrative measures.
The administration and police are on high alert for this event. A significant deployment of police, PAC, and other security forces has been arranged. Officials have inspected the venue and key routes to finalize all preparations.
The venue has been equipped with a stage, barricading, security perimeters, and other necessary arrangements. A helipad has been set up at Shobhit University for the Chief Minister’s arrival. The local intelligence unit, anti-sabotage teams, and bomb disposal squads are continuously monitoring the area, while additional security forces are stationed along the Kanwar route.
On Friday, ADG Meerut Zone Bhanu, DIG Kalanidhi Naithani, DM Dr. VK Singh, CDO Nupur Goyal, and SSP Avinash Pandey inspected the venue, helipad, and Kanwar route to assess security and other arrangements. During this inspection, the City SP monitored the movement of devotees and traffic management along the Kanwar route using a drone camera.
The administration has prioritized the safety and convenience of devotees during the Kanwar Yatra. Comprehensive arrangements for medical camps, drinking water, rest areas, and sanitation have been made along the Kanwar route to ensure that devotees face no inconveniences.
