BJP Will Not Form Government in West Bengal: Hussain Dalwai

Mumbai, May 2: Congress leader Hussain Dalwai has voiced his opinions on several critical issues, including the West Bengal elections, religious events, Maharashtra politics, and law and order. Regarding the West Bengal elections, Dalwai made serious allegations, claiming that there was widespread manipulation during the polls.

He stated, “The BJP committed large-scale fraud in the Bengal elections, but I believe they will not come to power regardless.”

Responding to comments made by the Allahabad High Court about religious gatherings, Dalwai took a balanced stance. He said, “It is wrong to perform prayers in public places every day. Prayers should be held in mosques. However, during occasions like Eid, when large crowds gather, it is not wrong to use a public field. This is not just done by Muslims but by people of other religions as well, such as the large events held at Shivaji Park.”

Dalwai also shared his views on the ongoing debate regarding the Marathi language in Maharashtra. He remarked, “People living in Maharashtra should understand and speak Marathi; there is nothing wrong with that. I personally support Marathi. However, it is entirely wrong to say that a rickshaw driver must read and write in Marathi.”

He mentioned the underprivileged, stating that many rickshaw drivers are often not well-educated. “If they were educated, they would become engineers or doctors, not drive rickshaws,” he added. Dalwai accused the authorities of deliberately raising the Marathi issue to harass the poor.

On the topic of law and order, he criticized the Maharashtra government, asserting that the situation is deteriorating day by day. “The government is taking the law into its own hands, demolishing people’s homes, which is wrong. Women and youth are facing atrocities, and it is the responsibility of the police and government to take action.”

Dalwai also targeted the central government, stating that unemployment and inflation are rising in the country. “People work hard all day but earn very little. The poor are becoming poorer, while the rich are getting richer.”

In conclusion, he made sharp remarks about Himanta Biswa Sarma, stating that his language and statements are inappropriate.
