BJP Unveils Charge Sheet Against Mamata Banerjees Government in Bengal Elections

Kolkata, March 28: As the West Bengal Assembly elections approach, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released a charge sheet against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress (TMC) government. Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that this document compiles 15 years of alleged misdeeds by the TMC government.

The BJP’s 40-page charge sheet, titled “15 Years of TMC: Bengal in Blood,” outlines various shortcomings of the TMC administration. It highlights issues such as infiltration, rampant corruption, institutional decline, financial mismanagement, administrative failures, law and order problems, women’s safety, agricultural crises, healthcare deterioration, and numerous scams.

The charge sheet accuses TMC-affiliated syndicates of providing fake ID cards to infiltrators to create a ‘vote bank,’ jeopardizing national security and demographics. Of the 2,216.7 kilometers of West Bengal’s border, 569 kilometers remain unfenced due to delays in land acquisition by the TMC government, which allegedly promotes infiltration.

Claiming “Syndicate Raj” in Bengal, the BJP pointed out that institutional corruption and a culture of ‘cut-money’ (commission) have permeated sectors like coal, PDS, SSC, and MGNREGA. The charge sheet asserts that since 2016, there have been 300 political murders and over 13,000 attempted murders in Bengal, with recurring communal unrest in Murshidabad, Mominpur, and Maheshtala.

Regarding crimes against women, the BJP criticized the government for failing to deliver justice from Park Street to Sandeshkhali. In 2023 alone, 34,738 crimes against women were reported in Bengal. The BJP also noted the exodus of 6,688 companies and the closure of 18,450 MSMEs, leading to a significant capital flight. Consequently, over 4 million youths have been forced to migrate due to rising unemployment.

During a press conference in Kolkata, Amit Shah remarked, “This charge sheet represents the voice of the people of Bengal against the Mamata Banerjee government. In the upcoming elections, the people must choose between fear and trust.”

He emphasized that the charge sheet narrates the story of a government that has exploited the people of Bengal under the guise of the dream of a golden Bengal. Under TMC’s misrule, Bengal has become a laboratory of corruption, with criminal syndicates troubling the public. Due to a lack of development, Bengal has effectively turned into a graveyard for industry. Shah asserted that this time, the people of Bengal have decided to establish a BJP government with a decisive majority.

The Union Home Minister also announced that a BJP government will be formed in West Bengal on May 6, and within 45 days, the necessary land for border fencing will be made available to the Indian government. He assured that they would prevent infiltration. Furthermore, he mentioned that many youths have aged out of recruitment processes due to various scams, promising a five-year relaxation for age limits and opportunities for those who missed out on SSC recruitments, along with a commitment to a transparent recruitment process.
