New Delhi, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : BJP national spokesperson RP Singh recently commented on several pressing issues, including the Indian women’s cricket team’s Asia Cup victory, the trophy controversy, and the singing of ‘Vande Mataram’ during a cricket match. He characterized the women’s team’s decision regarding the trophy as a patriotic move, while also expressing support for the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and the recent closure of 252 madrasas in West Bengal.
Regarding the trophy controversy, Singh stated that the team’s choice reflects their sentiments, particularly in light of ongoing terrorist attacks from Pakistan. He emphasized that this decision is a nationalistic one that deserves the country’s support.
On the matter of singing ‘Vande Mataram’ during the India-Afghanistan match, Singh asserted the need for clarity and respect for the anthem. He argued that it should be sung in full and treated with the same reverence as the national anthem. Singh also criticized the Congress party, contrasting its historical role in the freedom movement with its current political stance.
Singh expressed concern over the West Bengal government’s decision to shut down 252 madrasas. He stated that if any teacher is found linked to terrorist organizations, it is a serious issue that must be addressed. He urged the state government to investigate the backgrounds of teachers and take action based on any suspicious connections, rather than solely relying on the institutions’ names.
He welcomed Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s announcement about implementing the UCC in BJP-ruled states by 2029. Singh highlighted that this step would significantly benefit women’s rights, especially concerning issues like triple talaq and polygamy faced by Muslim women.
In response to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s remarks regarding the BRICS summit dinner menu, Singh criticized the opposition for focusing on trivial matters rather than the significant joint declaration issued during the summit. He noted that the agreement among nations with differing views reflects India’s diplomatic strength under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Singh also supported Modi’s message at the BRICS summit, which urged countries not to use technology and critical minerals as tools for coercion. He emphasized that these resources should promote global welfare and development, rather than serve individual national interests.
