Congress Leader Expresses Discontent Over Exclusion from DK Shivakumars 100-Day Celebration

Bengaluru, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : Karnataka Congress President BK Hariprasad has expressed significant discontent regarding his exclusion from the stage during the 100-day celebration of the government led by DK Shivakumar. Party sources revealed on Monday that Hariprasad raised his concerns with the party leadership.

Despite being a prominent figure, Hariprasad was notably absent from the stage at the official event, which featured former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara addressing the audience. This has raised eyebrows within the party, especially since Hariprasad holds the position of state president.

Sources indicate that Hariprasad has voiced his grievances among close associates, questioning why he was not invited to such a crucial government function. He pointed out that, despite his roles as party state president and Member of the Legislative Council (MLC), no photographs of him were published from the event.

“The 100-day celebration is over. I am the party president and an MLC. It was a significant government event, yet not a single image of me was released,” Hariprasad stated, alleging that he was intentionally sidelined.

This incident has sparked discussions within the Congress party, particularly as senior leaders have been at odds over various operational issues. Responding to the controversy, Chief Minister Shivakumar dismissed claims that Hariprasad was not invited.

During a visit to his constituency in Kanakapura, Shivakumar asserted that invitations were sent to everyone, and seating arrangements were made according to protocol. “Who said we did not invite Hariprasad? All MLAs were invited, including those from the opposition. Hariprasad is our party president, and we must implement any directives from the party collectively,” he stated.

Shivakumar further accused the media of unnecessarily politicizing the issue, emphasizing that invitations were extended to all officials and others involved.

Meanwhile, regarding the vacant positions in the state cabinet and the anticipated cabinet expansion, Shivakumar mentioned that he would fill those roles as soon as the party leadership provides guidance. He remarked that the media seems more interested in cabinet expansion than the senior leaders of the party.
