BJP Responds to Opposition March, Claims Congress is Out of Touch with Voters

Lucknow, October 8 (Daily Kiran) : In a sharp rebuttal to the opposition’s protest march against the Special Intensive Review of the voter list and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, leaders from the NDA have voiced strong criticisms.

In Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya stated, “Congress has lost touch with power and has gone mad. They are desperately trying to launch Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra, but the public is completely rejecting them.”

Maurya suggested that if the opposition had any substantial issues, they should present them to the Election Commission. He likened their situation to that of a “frustrated cat scratching a post,” asserting that since they are unable to win elections and have no standing in the court of public opinion, they resort to such antics.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak characterized Congress’s questioning of constitutional institutions as an old habit of the party and its allies. He remarked, “When they win elections, they say nothing about these institutions. They were silent when they won in Tamil Nadu and Himachal Pradesh. Why didn’t they boycott in Kerala where they also won? This is merely an excuse to explain their electoral failures. The BJP will return to power in Uttar Pradesh with a resounding majority for the third time.”

In a related statement, Cabinet Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar in Aligarh also criticized the India bloc’s march. He noted, “These people believe in violence. The entire country knows that during Congress’s tenure, they had control over the entire system. It was during their time that the BJP emerged and formed a government.”

Rajbhar provided an example from Uttar Pradesh, stating, “From 2012 to 2017, the Samajwadi Party was in power, yet Yogi Adityanath became Chief Minister.” He dismissed allegations of vote theft, questioning how the BJP could win 303 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and drop to 240 in 2024 if there were indeed vote thefts. “If there was cheating, the number of seats would have increased, not decreased,” he concluded.
