
New Delhi, October 8 (Daily Kiran) : The Chief Electoral Officer’s office in New Delhi has released a daily bulletin regarding the special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list. Issued from the old St. Stephen’s College building in Kashmiri Gate, the report emphasizes that no eligible citizen should be left out of the voter list, and no ineligible person should be included.
As of October 8, 2026, the bulletin highlights the ongoing claims and objections period, which runs from August 31 to October 30, 2026. The data reveals a significant enthusiasm among new voters. Up to August 30, a total of 212,400 Form-6 applications for new registrations were received. Between August 31 and October 7, an additional 202,359 forms were submitted, bringing the total to over 400,000 new voter applications.
District-wise statistics show the highest numbers in the Southeast district, with 24,923 and 19,931 applications, followed by the West district with 28,820 and 24,933, and the Northwest district with 21,640 and 21,345 forms received.
For migrant voters, 1,351 Form-6A applications were submitted by August 30, with 366 more received in the subsequent period. In terms of objections for name removals, 51,471 Form-7 applications were filed by August 30, with an additional 6,077 submitted later. The Southeast district reported the most objections, totaling 14,659.
The office has also noted that the draft voter list will be published on October 31, 2026. This list can be viewed and downloaded from the official CEO Delhi website and will be available at all polling stations.
Officials are urging voters to verify their names on the list. Those whose names are missing should fill out Form-6 with the required declarations and supporting documents to be included in the final voter list. Young individuals who turn 18 on or before October 1, 2026, are also eligible to apply. For address changes or corrections, Form-8 must be submitted.
All claims and objections received by October 30, 2026, will be addressed by November 30, 2026, with the final voter list set to be published on December 4, 2026.
