Kolkata, October 5 (Daily Kiran) : West Bengal BJP President Samik Bhattacharya announced plans for a series of events across the state to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public service. These celebrations will span approximately one month and include service initiatives, rallies, and torch processions.
Bhattacharya indicated that preparations are underway for these events, which will kick off on Wednesday. On October 7, service-related activities will be held nationwide, including in all 23 organizational districts of West Bengal. Each district will host a major gathering featuring speeches from the BJP’s national president, followed by an address from Prime Minister Modi.
After Modi’s speech, party workers will split into groups to conduct torch processions. The aim is to reach every village in West Bengal and share Modi’s vision and aspirations with the public. Bhattacharya emphasized that these events will highlight Modi’s accomplishments over his 25-year career, showcasing his roles as both Chief Minister and Prime Minister.
He noted that the programs will also reflect Modi’s dedication and service to the people, as he sees himself as a servant and guardian of the nation.
Regarding the proposed nationwide protests by the India Block concerning the SIR issue, Bhattacharya affirmed the right to protest in a democratic society. He stated that everyone should have the freedom to express their views, whether through demonstrations or other forms of protest. He added that the BJP will focus on its work, while the Election Commission and judiciary will perform their respective roles, with the ultimate resolution expected at the polls.
In light of upcoming by-elections in West Bengal, Bhattacharya confidently asserted that the BJP will secure victories in both contests. He claimed that the margin of victory in Nandigram will be significantly larger than in previous elections, projecting a fivefold increase in support for the party in that region.
