Chennai, October 5 (Daily Kiran) : As the Dharapuram by-election approaches, tensions between the DMK and TVK parties are escalating. TVK Minister Arunraj has launched a sharp critique against DMK leader V. Senthil Balaji, accusing him of making baseless allegations out of fear of losing the election.
In a post on the social media platform X, Arunraj questioned, “How can those steeped in the darkness of corruption criticize the light?” He firmly rejected the accusations made by Balaji, asserting that they are far from the truth and fabricated.
Arunraj scrutinized the DMK’s history, stating, “In the history of by-elections, only the DMK has shamefully auctioned democracy for money. Those who once herded voters like sheep for votes now criticize us for advocating clean politics; it is a true irony.”
He further argued that the DMK’s attempts to blame TVK for past wrongs, such as distributing items like sarees and biryani, are akin to darkness condemning the light it sees. “Those accustomed to buying votes with power and money are stung by the selfless love we receive from the public,” he added.
The minister also accused the DMK of promoting false images in their campaign. He claimed that the pictures they are showcasing are blatant lies designed to deceive voters. “We do not resort to the disgraceful politics of distributing money for votes; our leaders are paragons of truth and integrity,” Arunraj emphasized.
He warned that the TVK would take legal action against Balaji and the DMK, stating, “Those who think they can throw mud without consequence will face strict legal repercussions from us. The people of Dharapuram will respond with their votes against those who auction democracy for money.”
Tensions are expected to continue as both parties gear up for the upcoming election.
