New Delhi, June 10: BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi condemned the Congress party’s behavior following the rejection of Meenakshi Natarajan’s nomination. He described the party’s response as extremely unfortunate and unacceptable.
In an interview with a news agency on Wednesday, Trivedi noted that the matter concerning Natarajan is currently under judicial review. She received a summons regarding this issue in September 2025 and presented her case in October 2025. This indicates that the matter is being duly considered by the court. Under these circumstances, Congress cannot dismiss the situation as non-existent. More importantly, it raises questions about the nature of the case itself.
Additionally, a female Congress worker from Telangana filed a complaint against a party leader for exploitation and inappropriate behavior. This incident highlights the troubling conduct of Congress leaders towards their own members and workers.
Trivedi stated that Congress’s commitment to women’s empowerment now seems irrelevant. Legally, every candidate is required to disclose any ongoing legal cases against them. Meanwhile, information has surfaced that has prompted Congress to create a ruckus.
He expressed several questions for Congress regarding this matter. With Congress in power in Telangana, why have they not clarified that this issue has been resolved? Furthermore, has the court dismissed the case without any public announcement? Another pressing question is why Congress has not fielded an alternative candidate after the rejection of Natarajan’s nomination. Typically, an alternative candidate is presented to clarify the situation post-rejection, or perhaps Congress anticipated defeat and submitted the nomination to create an opportunity for allegations.
Trivedi also commented on the current state of the opposition. He remarked that opposition parties are now questioning their own workers. He questioned how long this situation would persist, indicating that Congress is in such a poor position that it is not taking allegations from its own members seriously. He pointed out that despite having many capable lawyers, Congress has failed to address this issue. There are even individuals within Congress who can manage court proceedings at odd hours, yet they have overlooked this matter.
