Amritsar, August 28: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated on Friday that the people of Punjab are tired of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government and are ready for change.
He criticized the AAP for ruining Punjab, claiming it has surpassed the previous Congress government in corruption. Consequently, the people of Punjab are determined to establish a BJP government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, aiming to transform Punjab into a strong, developed, and well-governed state.
Saini emphasized the need for collective efforts to advance Punjab on the path of development and good governance while safeguarding its sacred land, culture, and dignity.
The Chief Minister made these remarks during a grand conference held at Baba Bakala Sahib in Amritsar. Central Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also addressed the gathering.
The conference witnessed a significant turnout of BJP workers and local residents. Paying homage to the sacred land of Amritsar and Baba Bakala Sahib, Saini remarked that it is a revered site of the Gurus, where history was not just written but created. He noted that Baba Bakala Sahib is the holy place where the true Guru was identified among many claimants, and it was here that Bhai Makhan Shah Lubana recognized the truth and raised the slogan, “Guru Ladhore.”
Standing on this sacred ground, the Chief Minister paid his respects to Guru Tegh Bahadur, known as “Hind di Chadar.”
He recalled that in 1664, the eighth Guru, Guru Har Krishan Sahib, indicated his successor by mentioning Baba Bakala. This historic event conveyed the message that true leadership is recognized by character, and although the truth may remain hidden for a time, it eventually comes to light.
Wishing everyone well on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Saini expressed that being among the people on this historic and revolutionary land feels more like being with family than attending a political rally. He urged that this sense of belonging should extend beyond mere meetings to a commitment to Punjab’s responsibilities.
He posed a critical question: Who can provide Punjab with honest politics, genuine promises, and a dedicated government? He affirmed that they gathered not just to attend an event but to reaffirm their commitment to Punjab.
The Chief Minister stated that protecting the faith of Punjab, safeguarding farmers’ hard work, securing the future of youth, ensuring the dignity of women, and defending the border region of Majha is now the BJP’s pledge. He emphasized that the safety of mothers and sisters is not solely the government’s responsibility but a shared duty of every member of society.
