BJP Leaders Criticize TMC Following Alleged Attack on Abhishek Banerjee

New Delhi, June 1: Political tensions are escalating following the alleged attack on Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee. Leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have seized this incident to question the law and order situation in West Bengal and the functioning of the TMC government.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh targeted the TMC and former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during a media interaction in Begusarai, Bihar. He stated, “When the TMC was in power, there was a lack of democratic values within the party, and representatives were not free to express themselves. Now, with the party out of power, dissatisfaction among its leaders and legislators is becoming evident.”

Singh also responded to comments made by Rajya Sabha member Kapil Sibal, emphasizing that the alleged political violence and attacks on representatives during TMC’s rule cannot be forgotten. He criticized the Congress party, urging the need to remember past events.

In Mumbai, Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC also condemned the TMC leadership regarding this issue. She remarked, “Mamata Banerjee is staging a political drama, knowing well that there is discontent within the party. No one has the right to take the law into their own hands, and we should wish for Abhishek Banerjee’s swift recovery.” She further accused West Bengal of having a long-standing atmosphere of political instability that needs to change.

In Agra, Uttar Pradesh government minister Yogendra Upadhyay stated, “Reports of violence, arson, and migration have emerged in West Bengal post-elections. Why are those who expressed concern for democracy and law and order now adopting a different stance?” He suggested that the comments regarding the recent incident appear to be politically motivated.

Meanwhile, in Lucknow, Minister Jaiveer Singh claimed, “West Bengal has allegedly been under a ‘jungle raj’ for a long time.” He asserted that the public’s existing dissatisfaction is now being expressed democratically.
