New Delhi, June 24: Leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have expressed strong criticism towards Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann regarding the ongoing controversy linked to the Akal Takht and recent arrests in Gurugram.
BJP leader Tarun Chugh stated that Chief Minister Mann is continuously committing wrongdoings. He highlighted that Mann’s videos are filled with indecency and immorality, clearly showing how he disrespects individuals. When questioned by the Akal Takht, Mann claims the videos are AI-generated and tampered.
Chugh further asserted that the Akal Takht’s investigation confirms the authenticity of the videos. They were neither created by AI nor altered. Following this, the Akal Takht declared Mann as anti-panth for disrespecting the Gurus. Instead of apologizing, Mann is accused of attempting to cover up his mistakes by presenting a fabricated forensic report, which challenges the Akal Takht’s authority. Chugh described Mann’s actions as unfortunate.
BJP leader Vijay Sampla added that it appears to be an attempt to defame the Akal Takht and undermine its authority, suggesting that Mann is attempting to portray himself as truthful. Those present during the incident have confirmed the video’s authenticity. To conceal the truth, an alleged collusion with police officials led to an incident at the Crown Plaza hotel in Gurugram. The Haryana police have registered an FIR and made arrests in this case.
SGPC member Bhai Manjeet Singh stated that the entire situation is completely wrong. He emphasized that the statements regarding the Akal Takht and the verification process are incorrect. An FIR has been filed, and he believes that Chief Minister Mann should come forward, apologize, and accept appropriate religious punishment for any mistakes or false statements made.
