Gorakhpur, September 28 (Daily Kiran) : As the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in 2027 approach, political tensions are escalating. In Gorakhpur, BJP legislator Palatu Ram responded sharply to former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav‘s criticism regarding recent flooding in the area.
Ram praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s administration, claiming that the level of development in Gorakhpur during Adityanath’s tenure surpasses that of any government since India’s independence.
Heavy rainfall recently caused significant flooding, creating challenges for residents. Yadav had mockingly suggested that if Gorakhpur had drawn inspiration from Saifai, it could have become a model city.
In a conversation in Gonda, Ram targeted Yadav’s remarks, arguing that the Samajwadi Party (SP) is limited to its familial politics and lacks a broader vision. He emphasized that Adityanath’s agenda encompasses all districts of Uttar Pradesh and demonstrates a commitment to overall state development.
Ram accused the SP of misleading the public, asserting that their focus is solely on creating confusion. He stated that while Adityanath is steering Uttar Pradesh toward progress, the SP is preoccupied with social media reels, suggesting that the electorate will not be swayed by such distractions.
With elections on the horizon, Ram also questioned the SP’s recent announcements, asking why they failed to honor athletes during their tenure from 2012 to 2017. He highlighted that the current government is taking steps to recognize athletes, including plans to establish a university in Meerut named after Major Dhyan Chand.
Ram concluded by emphasizing that the Yogi government is dedicated to advancing both the state and its youth.
