Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay launched a gold ring scheme for newborns in Madurai, distributing rings and engaging with families.

Madurai, September 28 (Daily Kiran) : Tamil Nadu‘s Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay inaugurated the ‘Thai Maman Gold Ring Scheme’ on September 28 at the Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai. During the event, he presented one-gram gold rings to newborns and interacted with their families. A large crowd gathered to witness the occasion.

The Chief Minister began the initiative by adorning the fingers of three children with the rings, while their mothers sat beside them. He held several babies in his arms and conversed with their parents. Some parents even requested him to name their children.

Vijay graciously accepted their requests, taking the babies in his arms and repeating each name three times following traditional naming customs. He also took selfies with the families and shook hands with mothers who approached him.

Later, he visited the hospital’s Integrated Child Development Ward, where he distributed rings to ten more children. Doctors were present, sharing laughter and spending time with the families. The distribution program at Rajaji Hospital was the highlight of CM Vijay’s visit to Madurai.

Upon his arrival at Madurai Airport from Chennai, hundreds of party workers warmly welcomed him. As his convoy made its way to the hospital, supporters and locals cheered, showering flowers on the vehicles.

At the hospital, CM Vijay was greeted with enthusiasm as he made his way to the event venue. He paused multiple times to chat with hospital staff and took pictures with some of them. Nurses and paramedical staff stationed throughout the hospital also welcomed him and captured selfies together. Inside the hospital, the focus remained on the newborns and their families as the Chief Minister distributed the first rings under the scheme.
