BJP Criticizes Congress Following Siddaramaiahs Resignation as Chief Minister

New Delhi, May 29: The political atmosphere in Karnataka has intensified following Siddaramaiah’s resignation from the Chief Minister‘s position. Leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have launched a sharp attack on the Congress party, raising serious questions about the state’s political landscape.

BJP leader Gaurav Vallabh targeted Congress, claiming there is a ‘tendering system’ for power within the party. According to him, the distribution of positions and states resembles a bidding process for projects. He sarcastically noted that the leader with the ‘highest bid’ is appointed as Chief Minister, while those who fall short are removed. Vallabh asserted that Siddaramaiah’s bid was weak, which led to his ousting.

He further stated that Congress has introduced a model where leadership selection appears more like a bidding process than a transparent political procedure.

During his remarks, Vallabh also commented on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He questioned Congress’s claim that Gandhi is the leading figure of the India Alliance, suggesting it should first be clarified whether the India Alliance truly exists. He pointed out that opposition parties in various states do not contest elections together but rather fight separate battles.

Vallabh highlighted that in states like West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, opposition parties have fought elections independently, raising doubts about the existence of a genuine alliance. He argued that if no coalition exists, the claim to leadership becomes questionable.

Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson RP Singh expressed concern over the situation in Karnataka. He noted that political turmoil in the state over the past few months has directly affected governance. According to him, the instability within the government is impacting the public.

Singh mentioned that civic services in major cities like Bengaluru have been disrupted, and administrative processes have slowed down. He accused Congress leadership of being entangled in internal disputes, which are hindering the state’s development efforts.
