Jaipur, May 28: The Rajasthan President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Madan Rathore, condemned the remarks made by RLP MP Hanuman Beniwal on Thursday. He stated that the language used by some politicians has reached an unacceptable level.
Rathore accused certain leaders of resorting to vulgar language merely to stay in the headlines and boost their TRP ratings. He emphasized that this poses a serious threat to democratic traditions and political decorum.
He remarked, “The use of derogatory language in politics is extremely unfortunate and shameful. While political opposition is natural, maintaining dignity and decorum in public discourse is equally important.”
Rathore further asserted that elected representatives should remain conscious of the dignity of their positions and their language.
He called for a ‘purification’ of today’s politics, warning that such statements could diminish public trust in political institutions and representatives.
Rathore urged the media to discourage and ideologically oppose leaders who resort to offensive language, stating that only by doing so can political discussions return to healthy standards.
Former BJP state president Ashok Parnami echoed this sentiment, stating that maintaining linguistic decorum and the dignity of public life is the responsibility of every elected representative. He condemned the alleged comments made against Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma as reprehensible and contrary to democratic values.
Dr. Arun Chaturvedi, Chairman of the Rajasthan State Finance Commission and former BJP state president, noted that the tradition of Indian politics has always been one of polite dialogue and ideological debate. However, he criticized some leaders for crossing all boundaries of civility for political gain.
He described the language allegedly used against the Chief Minister as unfortunate and harmful to democratic culture.
Home State Minister Jawahar Singh Bedham also criticized Beniwal’s remarks, stating that the language used against the Chief Minister and the cabinet was inappropriate and contrary to the dignity of an MP’s position.
He emphasized that elected representatives must uphold the dignity of their office.
BJP State Vice President Mukesh Dadhich stated that dissent and opposition are integral to democracy, but personal attacks and vulgar comments undermine healthy democratic traditions and lower political standards.
BJP State General Secretary Shravan Singh Bagdi remarked that ideological differences are natural in a democracy, but using vulgar language in the name of political opposition cannot be justified.
Another BJP State General Secretary, Bhupendra Saini, noted that the public expects politics to focus on development, good governance, and public welfare, rather than on statements filled with controversy aimed solely at drawing attention.
BJP General Secretary Mithilesh Gautam also condemned these statements, labeling them as contrary to democratic values and Indian political culture.
