Lucknow, June 25: After being appointed as the General Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh BJP’s new organizational team, Abhijat Mishra expressed gratitude towards the party leadership. He stated that he will strive to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to him with complete dedication and commitment. With the upcoming assembly elections in mind, he emphasized the need to strengthen the BJP organization with full energy and effort.
In a recent conversation, Mishra mentioned that electoral preparations in Uttar Pradesh will be accelerated. The party aims to strengthen its grassroots presence with the support of party workers. He is confident that the BJP will form the government in the state once again. The party’s goal is not just to win elections but also to effectively communicate its policies and development initiatives to the public.
Commenting on the Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav’s strategy targeting backward classes, Dalits, and minorities, Mishra asserted that the BJP does not engage in politics based on a single caste, class, or community. He emphasized that the entire party operates under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” (Together with all, Development for all). The BJP believes in inclusive politics, respecting every citizen’s dignity, and aims to progress with society as a whole.
Regarding the Congress party’s commemoration of the Emergency as a ‘Black Day,’ Mishra remarked that the Emergency imposed in 1975 represents a dark chapter in Indian democracy. During that time, the Constitution and democratic institutions were undermined, and journalists and political leaders who opposed the government were imprisoned. He stressed the importance of educating today’s youth about those events.
He stated that the Emergency was a period when democratic rights were severely restricted, marking a significant blemish in the country’s history. It is crucial for the youth to learn about it, which is why the BJP annually raises awareness on this topic, particularly among young people.
On the speculation surrounding some Samajwadi Party MPs joining the BJP and potential splits within the SP, Mishra noted that the BJP is a party of millions of workers and citizens. The party aspires for every citizen to connect with its ideology and stand with it. The BJP encourages as many people as possible to adopt its principles and contribute to nation-building as party workers.
