BJP Accuses Rahul Gandhi of Promoting Pakistani Propaganda Amid IAF Tender Revelations

New Delhi, June 24: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of furthering the propaganda spread by Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. The BJP claims that a recent tender issued by the Indian Air Force (IAF) has completely debunked the assertions made by both Pakistan and Congress.

In June 2026, the IAF released a tender related to an interim ‘Bridge Support’ package for all 36 Rafale fighter jets. The BJP argues that if any Rafale aircraft had been destroyed during Operation Sindoor, as claimed by Pakistan, this tender would not have been issued for all 36 jets.

BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala criticized Congress, stating that the IAF’s actions have revealed the truth behind Pakistan’s claims. He remarked, “The Indian Air Force has thoroughly dismantled the propaganda of Rahul Gandhi and Pakistan. The recently issued support package tender is for all 36 Rafale jets. This clearly shows that the narrative being spun by Pakistan and Congress about the destruction of Rafale jets is entirely false.”

Operation Sindoor was a military response by India to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in May 2025. The BJP alleges that during and after Operation Sindoor, Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders raised questions about the Rafale jets that aligned with Pakistan’s claims. The party asserts that the support package for the 36 aircraft clarifies that there was no truth to the claims of any Rafale jet being lost.

Poonawala stated, “Pakistan received a strong response during Operation Sindoor, but it attempted to fabricate a false narrative that Indian fighter jets were shot down. Unfortunately, the Congress party has also propagated this narrative.”

He further criticized Congress, claiming that it has transformed from the “Indian National Congress” to the “Islamabad National Congress” and the “Anti-National Congress.”

Poonawala also accused Rahul Gandhi of repeatedly raising issues that later proved to be incorrect. He asserted that Gandhi adopts such stances merely to oppose the BJP, thereby harming the image of the country’s armed forces and national institutions.

He concluded by stating that Rahul Gandhi’s stance on issues related to national security and military operations often appears contrary to India’s interests.
