
Motihari, August 21: In Bihar, under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme, a total of 235,000 homes have been constructed during the financial year 2026-27. Beneficiaries across the state were formally welcomed into their new homes on Thursday, as government representatives handed over keys and organized housewarming ceremonies.
A grand event was held by the Motihari district administration, featuring BJP legislator Shyam Babu Yadav, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) legislator Bablu Gupta, and District Magistrate Saurabh Suman Yadav as the chief guests. A large number of beneficiaries attended the event, where the guests presented keys to the new homeowners and congratulated them on receiving their permanent houses.
During the occasion, BJP legislator Shyam Babu Yadav emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal is to ensure that every poor family in the country has a secure, permanent home. He stated that the distribution of house keys is another step towards fulfilling the Prime Minister’s vision. It is only through PM Modi’s efforts that the allocation of permanent homes has become possible.
District Magistrate Saurabh Suman Yadav reported that nearly 35,000 permanent homes have been completed in the district so far. He highlighted the administration’s efforts to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of the housing scheme.
Beneficiaries expressed their joy upon receiving the keys to their new homes. Many shared that they previously faced significant challenges during the rainy season due to poor housing conditions. They expressed gratitude to the central government, stating that they can now live more securely and comfortably in their new permanent homes.
One female beneficiary expressed her happiness, stating she could not find words to describe it. She thanked PM Modi for the permanent home and shared the difficulties she faced while living in a thatched house.
Similarly, an elderly man remarked that he now has everything he needs, as he is no longer forced to live in an old, dilapidated house.
