Bihars Development Journey: From Jungle Raj to Prosperity, Says Sanjay Sarawagi

Patna, March 10: Sanjay Sarawagi, the state president of the BJP in Bihar, addressed issues such as the gas shortage, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s nomination for the Rajya Sabha, and ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.

Discussing Bihar’s development, Sarawagi stated that under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership, the state has transitioned from a journey of progress to one of prosperity. The budget has grown from ₹23,000 crores to a staggering ₹3,47,000 crores. He emphasized that Bihar now ranks second in development rates among major states, following Tamil Nadu, after breaking free from the “Jungle Raj” of Lalu Yadav.

He noted that during the prosperity journey, the Chief Minister conducted site inspections, verified land records, and initiated development plans through cabinet amendments. Although the journey was temporarily halted due to the assembly session, it is set to resume soon.

Commenting on the gas shortage reports from Bengaluru, he clarified, “I do not have detailed information about the situation in Bengaluru, but there is no LPG shortage in Bihar. Despite high demand, the government has maintained smooth supply and effective price control.”

Regarding upcoming election preparations, he highlighted the BJP’s operational strategy. “The BJP is a national party, and our ‘family spirit’ is the foundation of our approach. Whenever elections occur in a state, workers from other states come to assist,” he explained. He cited examples from Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal, noting that hundreds of workers from other states had also come to Bihar. However, he specifically mentioned that the political conditions in West Bengal are significantly different and more challenging compared to other states.

Sarawagi criticized Mamata Banerjee, stating that the disrespect shown to President Droupadi Murmu reflects arrogance and communal politics. He asserted that Banerjee should apologize, but her pride would prevent her from doing so. He believes the people of West Bengal will shatter this arrogance in the upcoming elections.
