Bihar Police Aspirants Protest Against Cancellation of Main Exam

Patna, October 5 (Daily Kiran) : In Patna, Bihar, police aspirants staged a significant protest on Monday against the Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission’s (BPSSC) decision to cancel the main exam. The demonstrators gathered near JP Golambar, demanding the reversal of the cancellation and validation of the announced results.

In response to the protest, a substantial police presence was deployed, including female officers to manage the situation. The candidates carried posters and chanted slogans against the commission and the government. They expressed frustration over the lack of a concrete response to their demands after a week of protests at Gardanibagh.

As the protest escalated, many aspirants attempted to march towards the Chief Minister‘s residence. However, police set up barricades to prevent their advance, leading to clashes in several areas. The protests caused temporary chaos in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Among the various posters, one read, “Two kachoris, one samosa, what trust in BPSSC?” This highlighted the candidates’ discontent with the commission’s decision. The BPSSC had previously conducted exams for 1,799 police positions, with results announced before the cancellation due to allegations of irregularities.

The aspirants are demanding a fair investigation into the matter instead of outright cancellation. They argue that many have worked hard throughout the process, and the cancellation jeopardizes their future. The protesters are urging the government to intervene and reverse the decision promptly.
