Patna, August 25: Bihar Minister Shravan Kumar addressed reporters on various issues on Tuesday. He emphasized that the state government is considering the demands of students and assured them that justice will be served in accordance with the rules. “Students should have faith in the government,” he stated. Bihar is the only state in the country where the most government jobs have been provided. Our government has taken steps in the employment sector and will continue to do so. Overall, my message to students is to remain patient; their voices will be heard.
Additionally, he criticized the Maharashtra government’s requirement for taxi drivers from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to learn Marathi. He stated that it is inappropriate to force anyone to learn a state’s language to secure employment there. The federal structure of our country grants individuals the right to work in any state. The Maharashtra government should take strict action against those imposing such requirements.
Regarding the state’s township scheme, Kumar mentioned that steps will be taken to implement it only after consulting with farmers. The government will advance the project after gaining the farmers’ trust. Our minister has also communicated this information to the public through newspapers.
Meanwhile, Janata Dal United spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan described the recent dialogue between Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi as positive. He expressed hope that this communication would resolve disputes between the two countries. India shares significant relations with China, particularly concerning borders and trade. Given the proximity of our borders, dialogues occur regularly.
On the rising sugar prices, he noted that the situation is temporary and will normalize soon. He mentioned that there are attempts to corner us regarding ethanol, but the root cause is the reduced sugar production this season, coinciding with the festive season. Typically, such price fluctuations are observed with onions, but they are also temporary. Sugar prices are expected to stabilize shortly.
Ranjan responded to the BJP’s announcement of contesting all seats in the upcoming Punjab assembly elections, stating that there is growing anger among the public towards the Aam Aadmi Party. The Congress party has fragmented. People now look to the BJP for solutions. They believe that if the BJP forms the government in Punjab, many issues will be resolved, as having the same party in power at both the center and state will help curb crime and drug trafficking, leading to developmental work in the state. The BJP conducts thorough ground studies before making any decisions.
He also commented on the opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav’s march with students towards the Raj Bhavan, stating that he does not understand the real reason behind the students’ protests. Over 32,000 vacancies for Tier 3 positions have already been announced, with two exams scheduled. Preparations for these exams are underway. A law has been established to curb paper leak incidents at the national level, and a special committee has been formed in Bihar to address paper leak concerns. Following their recommendations, the state government will take action. Therefore, there is no reason for students to protest; it would be more beneficial for them to focus on exam preparation to achieve the best results.
Furthermore, he remarked on the unexpected rise in digital transactions, stating that the results have exceeded expectations. Discussions are ongoing with other countries regarding our UPI system, focusing on how to expand its network internationally.
He also dismissed the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s warning to taxi drivers about learning Marathi as absurd. He emphasized that no one should be forced to learn another language. Learning the local language can facilitate communication, and a little time should be given to help them learn.
Lastly, he praised Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay for fulfilling his promises, highlighting the importance of politicians keeping their commitments to the public. He extended his best wishes to him.
