Lucknow, August 25: In a significant move, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh has highlighted the government’s commitment to transparency in public recruitment and employment for youth. During an event at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, he distributed appointment letters to 3,446 technical assistants and 126 market secretaries, showcasing this as a major achievement of his administration.
CM Yogi announced that in the next six months, an additional 100,000 youth will receive government appointment letters. He emphasized that the recruitment process, which adheres to merit and reservation rules without discrimination, has been a considerable challenge, yet his government has successfully navigated it.
Over the past nine and a half years, more than 930,000 young people have been given government jobs, according to the Chief Minister. He asserted that no questions can be raised regarding the recruitment processes conducted during the current administration. Yogi noted that encouraging youth energy and linking it to the state’s development is now evident in Uttar Pradesh.
Criticizing previous governments, he remarked that before 2017, government job advertisements led to rampant corruption, with influential families exploiting the system. He assured that his government has taken a firm stand against such malpractice.
Yogi urged recruitment commissions and boards to expedite the selection process, stating that earlier, exams and results took months, fostering an environment of cheating that undermined the credibility of the examination system. Today, many exams are conducted with results released within 14 days.
He reflected on how Uttar Pradesh was once labeled a “sick state,” with youth migration, farmer distress, and concerns over women’s safety. However, he claimed that the situation has improved significantly, with per capita income tripling. The government has transformed youth talent into a strength for the state.
The Chief Minister also mentioned a recent delegation from Japan, highlighting that the world is now recognizing the talent of Uttar Pradesh’s youth. He noted that over 5,000 young people sent to Israel are earning well and supporting their families.
Yogi directed newly appointed market secretaries to prioritize their responsibilities towards farmers, emphasizing cleanliness in markets and ensuring farmers’ dignity. He stated that enhancing farmers’ income should be a core responsibility of the market system.
He claimed improvements in law and order and electricity supply, stating that farmers no longer fear theft of their equipment. Free electricity is now provided to farmers, a significant change from previous conditions.
Addressing issues related to sugarcane payments and sugar mills, CM Yogi criticized past governments for selling mills at low prices. He assured that over 100 sugar mills are currently operational under his administration. He committed to providing relief funds to farmers within 24 hours of any natural disaster.
Yogi accused previous governments of failing to distribute disaster relief funds from the center in a timely manner. Regarding sugar supply, he stated that there is no shortage in Uttar Pradesh, with a monthly consumption of about 400,000 tons and a current stock of approximately 2.8 million tons. He predicted that production would increase to around 900,000 tons once sugar mills resume operations on October 15.
