Bihar Launches Pink Bus Service for Womens Safe Travel

Patna, July 18: In a significant move to enhance women’s safety and convenience in travel, the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) has launched a special ‘Pink Bus Service‘ in Saharsa. This initiative aims to provide secure, comfortable, and affordable public transportation for women and schoolgirls.

The BSRTC has extended this service to Saharsa, with buses currently operating on key routes such as Saharsa-Nawhatta-Muradpur. Prioritizing passenger safety, these buses are equipped with modern features including GPS tracking, panic buttons, and female conductors. These measures are designed to instill a greater sense of security and trust among women travelers.

Following the launch of the Pink Bus Service, local women and residents have praised the state government’s initiative. One local woman expressed that the Pink Bus Service is an excellent initiative for women, particularly for working women who often struggle with time constraints. She noted that this service will help them reach their destinations safely and on time, and she thanked the state government for this effort.

Another local woman also expressed her gratitude, stating that the presence of female conductors enhances the confidence and safety of women passengers. She emphasized that this allows women to travel without fear.

The Bihar government’s initiative, along with BSRTC, is seen as a crucial step towards providing safe public transport for women. It is expected to benefit a large number of working women, students, and other female passengers, enabling them to complete their daily commutes more safely and conveniently.
