
Patna, June 22: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary emphasized that the BJP has consistently honored and included the extremely backward classes in political processes, a commitment that will continue. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the country has established new dimensions of trust and development over the past 12 years. He stated that the dream of a developed India can only be realized when the benefits of development reach the last person in society.
The Chief Minister made these remarks during a ceremony honoring the extremely backward classes at the Sri Krishna Memorial Hall in Patna. He noted that the central government has worked to empower laborers and those engaged in traditional occupations in rural areas. Various welfare schemes are being implemented to bring the poor, backward, extremely backward, and marginalized communities into the mainstream, benefiting all sections of society.
Addressing law and order issues, the Chief Minister asserted that the Bihar government will not bow down to any criminals. Offenders will not be spared at any cost. He mentioned ongoing intensive campaigns against criminals, reaffirming the government’s commitment to making Bihar crime-free. The actions taken against those involved in irregularities during the NEET exam highlighted the government’s transparency and commitment to good governance.
Chaudhary also criticized the opposition, stating that RJD leader Lalu Yadav is more concerned about the safety of his family and residence than the security of all societal classes, which is the government’s priority. Bihar, the birthplace of democracy, has witnessed many political phases, but today, under Modi’s leadership, the backward and extremely backward communities are receiving respect and rights.
He acknowledged that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee were advocates of social justice and reservation. Jananayak Karpoori Thakur fought for reservation for backward classes in Bihar. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for the recognition of Karpoori Thakur with the Bharat Ratna. He stated that currently, all eligible classes are benefiting from reservations under constitutional provisions, with special provisions for economically weaker sections.
Chaudhary highlighted that nearly 60 percent of Bihar’s population belongs to backward and extremely backward classes, and the government is continuously working for their social, educational, and economic upliftment. He reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the participation of the extremely backward community and enriching Bihar. The event concluded with the honoring of newly elected legislative council members and a pledge to advance the government’s efforts for the development and empowerment of the extremely backward community.
The ceremony was attended by Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, Union Minister of State for Water Power Dr. Rajbhushan Nishad, MP Radhamohan Singh, Bihar Assembly Speaker Dr. Prem Kumar, several ministers from Bihar, and a large number of public representatives, social workers, and BJP activists.
