Baloch Leader Condemns Pakistani Attacks on Afghanistan, Reiterates Support for Kabul

London, February 27: Baloch freedom advocate Hirbayar Marri has condemned the recent attacks by Pakistan on Afghanistan. In a statement released on Friday, he criticized the retaliatory actions taken by Pakistan.

Marri highlighted the alleged unjust killings of Baloch and Pashtun people, denouncing the attacks and asserting that the Baloch community has always stood with Afghanistan.

The Afghan National Defense Ministry confirmed on Friday that they had conducted a counterattack along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, claiming to have killed around 55 Pakistani soldiers and seized control of 19 posts and two bases.

Following this, Pakistan launched military operations. Marri expressed astonishment at Pakistan’s military actions, questioning how they can target fellow Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan.

He remarked that it seems Pakistan has forgotten its own attacks on Afghanistan on February 22, the fifth day of Ramadan.

The Baloch leader claimed that some Pakistani officials question the faith of Afghans, asserting that they are not true Muslims. He further stated that they overlook the historical fact of who introduced Islam to the people of Punjab province in Pakistan.

In a post on X, Marri raised several issues, asking, “Punjab, the land that has served every invader for the past eight hundred years, welcoming them with flowers and aiding them in conquering the continent and Central Asian countries, now claims to be the protector of Islam. What about the thousands of Baloch and Pashtun people killed without legal proceedings by the same holy Pakistani-Punjabi army?”

He emphasized that Pakistan’s reaction to the Afghan Foreign Minister’s official visit to India shows their discomfort, as they have labeled Kabul a proxy for India.

“This small visit has unsettled the Pakistani elite, as they believe Afghanistan is their backyard and they have the sole right to make decisions for the Afghan people. But reality check: Afghanistan is a free country and can maintain relations with any country of its choice,” he stated.

Marri accused Pakistan of wandering the world with a begging bowl for over eight decades, serving the interests of foreign powers while still claiming to be the sole protector of the Muslim world and a proxy for no one. “This comment comes from a country notorious for being an international beggar,” he added.

Showing solidarity with Afghanistan, he said, “We have been friends for centuries and have defended each other. Nothing has changed. We condemn the Pakistani attacks against Afghans.”
