Hyderabad, May 28: An Indigo flight, 6E-7104, traveling from Hyderabad to Jagdalpur had to turn back to Hyderabad on Thursday due to adverse weather conditions. The aircraft was carrying a total of 79 passengers. Fortunately, the flight landed safely, and all passengers were evacuated without incident.
The flight departed from Hyderabad at 2:51 PM, but due to poor weather and unfavorable conditions in Jagdalpur, landing there was not feasible. Consequently, the decision was made to return to Hyderabad.
After approximately two and a half hours, the aircraft safely touched down at Hyderabad Airport at 5:15 PM. It was directed to gate number 31, where the airline officially canceled the flight and ensured all passengers were safely disembarked.
There were no reports of technical malfunctions or accidents related to this incident. However, ongoing reports of aviation-related events have raised concerns among travelers.
Earlier, on May 26, an Indigo flight, 6E-6017, from Bengaluru to Chennai experienced smoke in the cabin before takeoff while taxiing towards the runway. Emergency protocols were immediately enacted, and all passengers and crew members were safely evacuated using emergency slides. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported in that incident either.
Indigo issued a statement at that time, emphasizing that the safety of passengers and crew is the airline’s top priority. All passengers were safely taken to the terminal, and refreshments were provided. The airline also arranged alternative flights to ensure passengers reached their destinations.
Notably, on May 5, another Indigo flight from Hyderabad to Chandigarh had to undergo an emergency evacuation after a passenger’s electronic device caught fire.
