New Delhi, June 14: Ahead of International Yoga Day 2026, officials and staff from the Ayush Ministry participated in a nationwide online yoga session, aiming to set a Guinness World Record. The initiative also saw the involvement of Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav.

During the event, Ayush Secretary Rajesh Kotecha announced that this year’s theme for International Yoga Day is “Yoga for Healthy Aging.” He emphasized that various programs are being organized in line with this theme. Under Minister Jadhav’s leadership, significant steps have been taken, including the “Yoga 365” initiative, which encourages practicing yoga every day of the year.

Kotecha mentioned that free yoga training sessions have been organized on the Ayush Ministry’s YouTube channel, attracting millions of participants. “Our goal is not only to set a Guinness World Record but also to promote healthy living and a healthier world,” he stated, expressing gratitude to all attendees for their commitment to this noble cause.

He further acknowledged the instrumental team behind the program, highlighting that the focus is not just on numbers but on sending a global message about the importance of yoga in our lives. “We encourage everyone to practice yoga 365 days a year,” he added.

Kotecha also announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead a major yoga event in Kolkata on June 21. He encouraged those unable to attend in person to join virtually and share their yoga experience with the Prime Minister on social media.
