
New Delhi, May 23: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday in New Delhi to discuss the roadmap for the state’s future development and progress.
During the meeting at her official residence, CM Sarma expressed gratitude to the central government for its continuous support over the past five years and highlighted the role of the center in accelerating the state’s development initiatives.
Following the meeting, Chief Minister Sarma shared a message on social media thanking Finance Minister Sitharaman for the “consistent support” provided to Assam and discussed the state’s development priorities for the upcoming years.
Chief Secretary Dr. Ravi Kota and Additional Chief Secretary Dr. K.K. Dwivedi were also present during the meeting.
Sources indicated that discussions included various aspects related to Assam’s economic development, infrastructure expansion, and investment opportunities.
The state government is actively pursuing large-scale infrastructure projects, industrial investments, and welfare initiatives aimed at strengthening Assam’s economy and improving connectivity.
Officials noted that issues related to financial assistance, development projects, and future investment opportunities were also part of the discussions between the two leaders.
This meeting underscored the growing coordination between the Assam government and the central government in implementing development programs across the state.
