Guwahati, March 30: Badaruddin Ajmal, the leader of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), has sharply criticized Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. He remarked that the Chief Minister, who often refers to people as “Miya-Miya,” will likely switch to “Myaun-Myaun” after the elections.
Ajmal expressed regret over the inability to campaign due to adverse weather conditions in Assam. He stated, “We are concerned for the candidates in areas we cannot reach, as my presence gives them hope for victory in the region.”
Discussing the current situation regarding illegal immigrants in the state, Ajmal said, “The Chief Minister, who continuously labels people as ‘Miya-Miya,’ will find himself in a difficult position after the elections. His party is about to face a significant setback. He should focus on saving the state.”
Ajmal criticized the Chief Minister’s approach, saying, “While the world progresses, we are still stuck with ‘Miya-Miya.’ It is quite shameful. The Chief Minister needs to think about advancing Assam.” He added, “We oppose his comments and will continue to do so. He claims that the protests from a particular community will cease, but that will not happen. The protests will only intensify.”
The AIUDF leader emphasized that education and health are the most critical issues for Assam. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of the National Register of Citizens (NRC), D-voters, and land leases. He also mentioned plans to meet with AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi, who is coming to the state for election campaigning.
