Pratik Sehajpal Discusses Modern Relationships and the Concept of Situationships

Mumbai, August 23: Actor Pratik Sehajpal, the runner-up of ‘Bigg Boss 15’, has openly shared his views on the evolving definitions of love and relationships in today’s world. He expressed that he does not consider ‘situationships’ as true love. According to him, the current generation thinks more openly about relationships, creating bonds based on personal preferences. However, he personally does not believe in such arrangements.

When asked about the changes in modern relationships, Pratik stated that he does not find the term ‘situationship’ suitable for describing genuine connections. If a relationship involves love, it cannot merely be viewed as a temporary arrangement or an unnamed bond.

Pratik remarked, “Honestly, when it comes to modern relationships, I can’t even call it a ‘situationship.’ I think these are grand concepts. There is nothing resembling love in it. It cannot be termed as love; it is merely a way to pass time. Many people today are comfortable in such relationships, where they might be with one person today and move on to another the next day. I’m not saying it’s wrong; it’s just part of today’s generation’s mindset and their evolving lives. Everyone is free to live according to their preferences.”

He also referenced historical concepts, saying, “In the past, there was a concept of group marriage, which later evolved into different forms. Society’s perception of relationships has always changed, and I have no issues with that. But I am not like that; I do not believe in such things.”

Discussing his new show ‘Dil Se Diwani Tak’, Pratik mentioned, “The show portrays relationships in a unique way. I play a character named Shivay, who is somewhat confused about his emotions. He has love within him but is trying to understand and navigate those feelings. Although my character may seem emotionally tangled, it will be clear in his eyes who he truly loves.”

Pratik also shared his personal thoughts on love, stating, “Love does not necessarily mean that I have to be a boy in front of a girl and say that I love her. I can love this plant, or I can love you. I also really love this camera.”
