Hardoi, August 23: The Uttar Pradesh assembly elections in 2027 may still be some time away, but the recent remarks by Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav have intensified political activity. In response to Yadav’s controversial statements, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) has expressed its objections, labeling him as a “Bhasmasur.” Arvind Rajbhar, the national general secretary of SBSP, stated that Akhilesh Yadav attempts to undermine any party he allies with.
In a conversation in Hardoi, Rajbhar commented on Yadav’s remarks, acknowledging past cooperation but warning that without vigilance, they could have faced extinction after the 2022 assembly elections. He claimed that Yadav’s alliances often lead to the downfall of the partnered parties. Rajbhar expressed gratitude for Yadav’s recent statements, noting that they have helped SBSP gain financial support, but emphasized that those who advocate for dynastic politics should recognize that they have also learned from such practices.
Regarding seat-sharing in the upcoming UP elections, Rajbhar mentioned that SBSP is actively working on 86 seats across Uttar Pradesh. He highlighted that approximately 83 of these seats had favored the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2017. However, when they allied with the Samajwadi Party in 2022, those same seats shifted in favor of the Samajwadi Party. He assured that SBSP would field its candidates in the seats allocated to them by the BJP or NDA in the 2027 elections.
On the topic of the recent protests at Jantar Mantar concerning reservations, Rajbhar remarked that previous demonstrations had received backing from opposition parties, which has now come to light. He reiterated that the reservation system enshrined in the Indian Constitution cannot be abolished, although constitutional amendments and changes to criteria may occur.
Rajbhar concluded by asserting that Akhilesh Yadav’s claims about the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) are unfounded, stating that the true PDA is with them.
